Good American is bringing extended sizes to the stylish walls of Zara.
The popular denim brand will launch a limited-edition collection in partnership with Zara in sizes 00-30 and 0/XS – 8/5XL, available in-store and online at Zara.com on May 5. This marks the first-ever product collaboration for Good American and comes after Zara announced a five-year dedication plan to perfecting designs for a spectrum of body types.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Zara to bring Good American one step closer to making the fashion industry even more inclusive,” says Emma Grede, co-founder and CEO of Good American. “I’ve always admired Zara for being a pioneer in bringing trend-forward fashion to a global audience, so it was a no-brainer to combine our expertise in creating perfectly-fitted denim and essentials in a full-size range with Zara’s design prowess. This partnership reflects both of our commitments to bringing greater access to fashion, and we’re excited to see how our customers will style these pieces and bring them to life.”
The collection includes five key denim silhouettes, a jumpsuit, a denim shirt and shacket, and an array of tees and tanks. According to a press release issued by the brand, the denim pieces are constructed with Good American’s “gap-proof waistband and sculpting fabric,” which aims to maintain stretch and shape. Prices range from $35.90-$99.90.
To celebrate the launch, Good American and Zara curated a spectrum of models to represent the sizes available. Precious Lee, Devyn Garcia, Georgia Palmer, Quannah Chasinghorse, Luca Biggs, Eden Joi, and Kayako Higuchi all star in the campaign, showcasing beauty beyond the standard size zero.
The partnership is particularly exciting as Zara has historically not catered to curves, stopping any extension at an XXL. With the help of Good American, however, a new and exciting barrier in fashion has been broken. And while this is a limited edition collection, it marks a slow but surely changing tide.
