Keke Palmer is doing it all. It seems as if with every new project, the actor is solidifying her multi-hyphenate status in Hollywood as she continues to act, sing and take on new roles in business, even launching her own network, KeyTV, all before the age of 30.
In addition to her day-to-day career, the Time 100 Next Generation honoree is beloved on social media for her comedic approach to TikTok and Instagram as well as her candid content on beauty and skincare (like openly discussing her longtime struggle with acne), while also being a fierce advocate for health and wellness while working as a brand ambassador for Olly.
Needless to say, your girl is busy. So by the time the holiday season rolls around, the self-proclaimed “workaholic” looks forward to some well-deserved down time with her family and friends.
“I’m always working and trying to get things done, but what I love about the holidays is everything shuts down. Even Hollywood,” Palmer recently told Vanity Fair at her October Olly lunch event in New York City. “We all kind of go to rest. And so I’m looking forward to being able to relax, recharge, and just refill myself with all the love for my family, eat some good food, and watch some really good movies.”
When Palmer returns to her home state of Illinois for the holidays, one of her favorite things to do is kick back, relax, and watch some festive film classics.
“I come from one of those movie families. We’re always just getting together and watching something. I’m excited to watch A Diva’s Christmas Carol, starring my girl, Vanessa Williams. And you know what? Just going ahead and put on one of The Santa Clause movies, you know!”
The Nope star, who previously told Glamour that she would want to be a therapist or a hair stylist if she wasn’t an actor, opened up about what it means to be able to spend time with family during times like the holidays after two pandemic years.
“I don’t think there’s ever going to be getting back to the life before the pandemic. It’s always going to be a new life and a new world and maybe that’s not a bad thing, right? But I think for me, probably the thing I look forward to the most is just the fact that we all can feel like we can let our hair down a little bit. Get back together and have fun and enjoy things,” Palmer said. “I think, more than anything, just the safe feeling that I think we maybe are starting to get back.”
