As she frequently reminds her followers, it’s important to remember not to be super hard on yourself as you’re dealing with PCOS-related symptoms, like weight gain, loss, and increased or loss of body hair. “Just keep in mind that PCOS is so common and you’re not in it alone. Some diets, supplements, practices, whatever it may be could work for one person and not the other. Don’t get discouraged if it takes time to figure out what works best for you and what helps you manage.”
Blooms suggests becoming your own biggest hype person and embracing “radical” self-love and acceptance — just remember it can take years of patience, practice, and repetition. She also urges people to embrace forgiveness (and therapy!). “We can for sure be our own worst critics. I’ve done a lot of work to speak to my childhood self and to apologize for the years of self hatred.”
And for any other PCOS baddies out there dealing with body image issues, Bloom has just this to say: “You’re a bad b*tch.”
